Sustainability @ CSC2026
Sustainability
Through collaborative efforts, CSC2026 aims to inspire meaningful change and drive impactful solutions that support a sustainable and regenerative future. By integrating sustainable principles into every aspect of the event—from planning and logistics to on‑site experiences—we work to reduce waste, conserve resources, and encourage participants to adopt environmentally conscious habits.
Our commitment includes prioritising local suppliers, minimising single‑use materials, promoting circular‑economy thinking, and showcasing innovative ideas that help protect our planet.
Together, we’re creating an event that not only sparks conversation but also empowers lasting action for people, places, and the environment.

Venue initiatives
Rydges Hunter Valley is committed to creating memorable guest experiences while caring for the beautiful region we call home. Their sustainability approach focuses on reducing environmental impact through energy‑efficient operations, responsible water use, and thoughtful waste‑reduction initiatives. They proudly support local producers, integrate eco‑friendly practices across the resort, and continue to invest in greener technologies that protect the Hunter Valley for future generations.
-
Rydges wind farms
Following the success of Solar Farm No. 1, Rydges Hunter Valley has completed the installation of Solar Farm No. 2. No. 1 farm spans over 70,000m² (17.29 acres/7 hectares), the farm features 13,350 high-efficiency solar modules with advanced PERC split-cell technology. Two MV power stations and cutting-edge inverter systems enable the farm to generate up to 5MW of power — five times the resort’s current energy load.
-
Sustainable Children’s Water Park
At Rydges Hunter Valley, sustainability meets fun in the new Children’s Water Park, powered entirely by renewable energy. 100% Solar Heating: A high-efficiency electric heat pump, driven by rooftop solar panels, keeps the water warm during the day. Smart Energy Systems: Adaptive technology maximises efficiency and minimises waste. Zero Gas Heating: Waste heat from our cogeneration unit warms the main pool by day; the solar-powered heat pump takes over at night.

Name badges
We are opting for recycled bamboo lanyards and eco-friendly name badges made from recyclable paper. We encourage delegates to return their name badges at the conclusion of the conference so that they can be properly recycled.
-
Suppliers
Our focus is on collaborating with local suppliers with sustainable social and environmental practices to reduce the carbon footprint of the conference.
-
No single-use items
The aim is to avoid or reduce single-use items which includes, but is not limited to, coffee cups, exhibition material and delegate collateral.
-
Digital versus paper
We are reducing the need for printed materials on site by using digital signage and offering a mobile app which includes all program and sponsorship information. We strongly encourage all participants to utilise the conference app and avoid requesting or accepting any printed materials.
